Coating an rv roof is different than sealing it.

Step 1 is always prep the area.
If the shell of your rv roof remains intact you can still salvage it.
Here is my initial inspection clean recondition of the edge sealant around various penetrations to my rv roof.
You then need to remove the existing roof membrane and replace any plywood underneath the old roof membrane that has been damaged.
You may also need to remove the roof sealant and replace it with a different one.
Rinse to remove all cleaner activator and let the roof completely dry.
If you own an rv with a rubber roof epdm or tpo you will inevitably face a time when you need to re coat it.

Apply first coat of roof coating.
Let coating completely dry.
You then adhere the new roof membrane to your rv roof before sealing the edges replacing the items from the roof and sealing the seams around the roof vents and antennas.
When you are applying the sealant on the seams of your rv once a year a good practice would be covering the roof of your rv with coating.
Mask walls and caps with good quality tape such as frog tape and sweep all loose material off roof.
Apply cleaner activator to roof using pump sprayer.
