All roll bars cages constructed of 4130 chromoly tubing must be welded using an approve tig heliarc process while mild steel must be done with an approved mig wire feed or tig heliarc process.

I know that the cm is lighter than mild steel of the same diameter but harder to.
My hp book on metal working and fabrication said its not good to use chromoly for making roll cages as when its involved in an impact it can break off into a sharp point.
That s not alot in my opinion.
Compared to that the cost of upgrading mild steel dom tubing to chromoly isn t that big of a deal cline says.
